[The first shot of this video is... leaves. Surprisingly green leaves, for the season. Then the camera switches and there's Royce, sitting in a tree in the middle of winter. He's bundled up at least, but the background behind him is... moving? The smoke from his cigarette traces patterns through the air.]

[Then he points the camera down and it becomes clear that he's on a Torterra, though one that's oddly colored. The camera swings back to him again and he - well, he doesn't quite smile but it's close.]

Fascinating! Absolutely... absolutely fascinating! I had no idea that the tortoise I received would become something so... massive. I think... well, it's not the most... unexpected evolution I've seen, but... well. He's certainly different than what I thought.

I'm... wondering... what's the most... unusual evolution of a Pokemon that you're aware of? It's... it's quite interesting to me, this whole... evolution concept. It seems like there's a good deal of energy that's let off, too much... I wonder...

[Unfortunately he doesn't have the resources to deal with that kind of thing... but still. It's interesting to think about. He gazes off into the distance for a few more moments before he looks down at the Pokegear, startled, and turns it off.]

As for evolutions, well...gosh, they're all so cool I dunno if I could say any one is more unexpected than another. But if I had to pick, I'd prolly say that I didn't think Inferno would get as big as she did when she evolved from Larvesta to Volcarona.

It's a Torterra. Useful, very useful, though a bit... slow for purposes of transport.

[Tortoises gonna tortoise, apparently.]

Ah, yes. A lot do grow quite... large, very large, don't they?

Oohh wow...it's so big! That makes up for being slow.

[He grins, straining to see if he can catch a glimpse of the Pokemon's head through the canopy of leaves surrounding Royce.]

Big enough to ride on, yeah! She's the best flier I've got.

[He points the camera down, and Silvan just keeps plodding along. Apparently he wants to take a walk.]

I have... one Pokemon that can likely learn Fly, but I don't know that she's really large enough for it.

A Skarmory. I'm not sure if she can take the weight of both myself and Red.

Oh yeah, maybe not...I think she'd be okay carrying just one of you guys, though.

Red doesn't have a Pokemon that can fly yet?

Not... not on her team currently. And neither of us have the HM.

Oooh okay, gotcha. Well, if I ever run into you guys again and you still don't have it, you can borrow mine if you'd like! Just gotta make sure you got the right gym badge and can actually use it n'stuff.

Two. I really should... get around to getting Goldenrod's one of these days...

Yeah, it's not so bad! As long as you've got at least one fighting type with you, you should be alright.

... Is it weak against anything else?

It isn't, nope! Though, Whitney has some fairy types on her roster, too, so it's not all just normal that you'll be going up against. So you might wanna keep that in mind too. Normal type actually isn't super effective against anything at all, but they also don't have any effect on ghost type Pokemon.

Ghosts... I can deal with. I just don't have any fighting types on my team.

That's alright! If you've got a few Pokemon that are pretty high leveled, I think you'll be okay.

Ampere has hit maximum level, I believe. I never evolved them into their final form, but... they seem happy like this.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that! My Herdier Buster is the same way, and he likes it just the way he is.

They're... still plenty powerful. I might do some research and... see if there's any advantage. They might simply not... know what their evolved form is like.

That's true! I think some Pokemon are just a little nervous about evolving. I know it took Spore a while before he evolved into Breloom, and he's real shy.

Some of mine are more... gentle than others, yes. I can... deal with those. It's the energetic ones I... have trouble with.

That's when you just gotta be as energetic as they are!
