while we're all getting ready for this storm - very curious this sort of thing, not something i've dealt with before. not something that happened in cloudbank. would have caused many problems though fixing them would have been simple i suppose!

in any case, yes! the subject of this post!

from what i have seen and heard many people give their pokemon names. i suppose it makes sense! but i cannot decide on names for mine. nothing seems to fit! i have not named many sentient creatures before. the ones i have i have been told my names are not very creative.

['Jerk' is a totally valid name for a creature, okay.]

i am a programmer and engineer by trade but i do not think those terms are very fitting for my pokemon.

[Red took all of the function names already. He's tempted to name the cat 'Asher' even if the cat is female.]

i have:
- magnemite (neuter)
- sentret (male)
- purrloin (female)
- dratini (female)
- skarmony (female)
- gastly (female)
- bronzor (neuter)

i did not realize how many female pokemon i have until just now. oh well nothing to be done about it nothing at all. i would prefer if they follow some sort of consistent naming theme but if one seems fitting i suppose it can be an anomaly.

[And if anyone wants to speak to the nerd, he's sitting in the Pokemon Center in Violet City with a Magnemite orbiting around him and a Dratini clinging to his leg.]

The Magnemite is probably still going to be tricky, and maybe the Gastly too, but if your constellations are anything like mine the others should be covered.

You might end up using whatever name you choose for years, and she'll have to answer to it. A little pickiness is to be expected.

That must make meal planning interesting. Does she at least make her preferences clear?

Some Pokémon are like that, sadly. But at least they're a step up from Pokémon that just like to harm you.

So, no making you trip while you're right next to a ledge, then?

That's an excellent start, but I'd suggest crossing your fingers for a 'not ever'.

Ah, true. Asking for too much from them will only leave you disappointed.

Some would say that's a plus, at least compared to shredded skin.

That must make you popular with both employers and hospitals.

That might change here, though, if you want. Or if the egg fairy decides that you need more cats in your life.

If it's dogs you want, I'd suggest getting a Houndour. You wouldn't think a hellhound could be so well-behaved.

They usually have a few at the Breeding Centre. Grab one while you can, certain species tend to get sold quickly.
