[Royce is sitting out with his... well, Ampere sure does look bigger. They're a Magneton now, and they're enjoying the light pets they're getting from Royce.]

I suppose a gym victory is a good way to celebrate a birthday. Though I'm not... sure how much a birthday matters at all anymore. It seems somewhat... pointless. ... I suppose there's nothing to be done for it.

In any case, I'm wondering just... how we find this... machine that allows us to use the skill we can use with this badge. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any at all?

[Ampere headbutts into Royce to share their excitement, causing him to drop the Pokegear and shut off the video.]

Well, if you want to keep it traditional, I suppose we could head there next. The path from Violet also goes to Goldenrod, however, and I remember you wanted to head there.

Goldenrod would be helpful. there's more things there and it seems more central, so setting up our new 'hub' there makes more sense to me.

Then we can head there. It's not like Azalea is going anywhere.

I guess so. I wouldn't mind exploring a bit more of the rest of Johto. Goldenrod can't have everything.

well, no. but a big city is likely to have more supplies and more of an opportunity to learn what's around!

[Scout pounces on Royce's lap, knocking the Pokegear away. He puts his paws up on his trainer's chest and presses against him, before climbing up to try to get on top of Royce's head.]

Scout, you can't fit - that's your tail - pftah!

[He gets a hind paw in his mouth and grabs the ferret... thing, holding him out away from him.]

Just... next to me. Not on top of me.

[She's maybe smiling a little bit at that whole scene.]

He just likes you.

He does. He's just... very enthusiastic.

Better enthusiastic than hating you, right?

That's true.

[He settles across Royce's lap, tail twitching happily.]

He's a sweetheart, really. You're lucky you caught him.

Yeah. The first catch...

You seem to have more luck with the ones you catch than the ones you hatch from eggs.

I do. I may just be unlucky, though.

Dynamica is quite well behaved, though. As is Bumpy.

It's always something you can ask the rest of the network about, sometime. It seems like there's a lot of people who know quite a bit about Pokemon here.
